Defensive Drillz:

  1. Good defense will take any player a long way. Players who can outright D-up and shut down their man are sought after by all coaches. Never neglect the importance of playing defense.
  2. For these drillz remember to stay low and move your feet as fast as possible.
  1. 1. Slides:
  2. -go form one side of the key to the other
  3. -do it for about 30 to forty seconds, rest and do it again
  4. -do 3 to 4 sets
  5. Drill 1.0

 

  1. 2. Star drill:
  2. -go from one elbow to the other, then dropstep and go to opposite block, then go to other block and then back to the start
  3. -see video
  4. -do for 30 seconds
  5. -do 4 sets
  6. -go both ways
  7. Drill 2.0

 

  1. 3. Plyometrics:
  2. -side to side off one foot
  3. -front to back off one foot
  4. -these drillz make your feet faster
  5. -see Training
  1. 4. Play one on one:
  2. -try to play with someone who is quicker then you
  3. -this is probably the best way to get better at defense
  4. -be sure not to reach, just move your feet
